NSCC is launching an innovative new program at the Annapolis Valley Campus in Middleton in September 2008. The Energy Sustainability Engineering Technology (ESET) program will be one of the few programs in Canada to produce highly-skilled trades professionals to work in the growing fields of sustainable construction, green technologies, and alternative energy.
As experts in both energy conservation and the application of renewable energy technologies, ESET graduates will be equipped to make a positive impact on climate change in terms of using energy more efficiently and integrating alternative energy into new and existing commercial or residential properties. They will be trained in the sizing, specification, and commissioning of solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, tidal and other sustainable energy systems.
Graduates will have their pick of career opportunities on the leading edge of the green movement. Atlantic employers have already pledged their support for this program. In fact, graduates of other similar programs across Canada are currently being hired by employers in the Maritimes.
These are the kind of skilled workers we needed five years ago. The graduates coming out of this program will be able to provide the technical services required to meet the sustainable energy challenges we face today and into the future. We're a growing company expecting to hire more staff over the coming months. Graduates of this program would be an ideal match.
